2018 Progress Update

Hi Friends of RF,

We have had an exciting start of the year since we came back from our annual Nobel Peace Prize visit in Oslo and wanted to share some of the most important bits and pieces with you.

First, we had a lovely evening at the Norwegian Ambassador's residence back in March where our young people reported back on their trip. You can visit the full gallery of pictures here.

We have now completed the first part of our Schools Programme supporting Year 8 'pupils at risk' from Tower Hamlets. Highlights include visits to the Oxford Union Debating Society, The Royal Astronomical Society and a Goals Setting workshop delivered by our sponsor PEN Partnership.

We have also welcomed a new cohort of young people onto our main 'i-Can Do It' programme, mainly young transitioning patients identified by our hospital partners, as well as young people referred by Hackney Young Carers and Islington Young Carers groups.

We are also thrilled to announce a new partnership with the British Film Institute 🎥. The partnership was launched in May during the half-term holiday with an interactive film-making workshop, and will continue with three key events, among them an exciting virtual reality workshop and a series of screening.

We are now looking ahead to our exciting annual summer programme which will start with visits to Buckingham Palace and The British Grand Prix at Silverstone 🏎, among others fun and inspiring activities.

We would like to say a special thank you to all of our friends and regular supporters - your donations and support make a massive difference in enabling us to provide these unique inspirational experiences and to remain an ongoing presence for our young people.

We look forward to seeing you soon, maybe at our upcoming Table Tennis competition this Autumn? We will soon come up with a date for this. Stay tuned.

Best wishes,

Sat  😎
