The Programme Journey

Our mission is that young people living with significant challenges are inspired to reach their full individual potential through strengthening their resilience, developing their soft skills and raising their ambitions. We do this through our three stage programme that provides specialist support.

Stage 1: Engage

The first stage of our programme is all about helping young people engage and identify their interests. We aim to spark a passion within each participant through a carefully crafted schedule of motivational speakers and engaging activities. Our focus is on fostering a sense of community and belonging among these two groups of young people. To achieve this, we offer team-building activities and exciting visits to iconic locations such as Buckingham Palace, Tate Galleries, and Wimbledon. These experiences help develop communication skills and foster a positive, empowering environment for our young participants.

Stage 2: Inspire

The second year of the programme focuses on "Explore and Apply". Participants will engage in project-based activities to further explore their interests, work towards goals set in the first year, and participate in social action projects and corporate partner sessions to develop essential traits and gain valuable experiences. By the end of the year, they will have a deeper understanding of their interests and the skills to make a positive impact.

Stage 3 - Achieve

The third stage focuses on preparing young people for future success by helping them evaluate and achieve their goals. This stage emphasises career readiness and the development of important employability skills. To further support active global citizenship, the program also includes an annual visit to the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.

Stage 4 - Lead

As we understand the importance of continued support and connection, we have established an Alumni Network for our Young Leaders who have completed the RF programme. This network enables us to direct them towards new opportunities and help them realise their full potential. In addition, we offer a Youth Board for our programme graduates to continue their involvement and growth with us.

Most young people complete the programme within three consecutive years. We do understand with caring responsibilities or ill health you may need to take a break from RF - this is usually possible and you would just need to let a member of the team know 💜
