How it started

Renaissance Foundation was founded by CEO Sat Singh in 2009, inspired by his own experiences as a young patient and carer. The charity was created to bring hope and empower change for young people facing challenges. Driven by role models and a desire to provide bespoke personal development opportunities, Sat was determined to help the next generation reach their full potential. With a mission to empower young Londoners, the charity has now supported hundreds of individuals, bridging the gap in the education system and limitations faced by young carers and patients in London. Sat is our inspiration at RF and he is tireless in finding new opportunities to enhance RF’s programme 💜

Why are we called Renaissance Foundation?

The charity’s name was inspired by the cultural, intellectual, and artistic revival of the Renaissance period. The term "renaissance" means "rebirth," reflecting our belief in the potential for renewal in every young person, regardless of their background. By igniting a spark our young people can reach their full potential and embark on their positive journey to adulthood.

Our Philosophy

It’s all about inspiration! We provide over 100 events per year which generate a myriad of opportunities for our teens experience that lightbulb moment which changes their life. It could be a careers visit to Rolls Royce; a speaker event; a visit to F1 or a trip to an art gallery; each of our young people will have moments of inspiration which help them choose their further education, employment and personal development pathways. Sharing experiences with their friends at RF deepens their sense of community and peer support 💜
